3. What happens after the German course, how does vocational training in Germany work?

We at HorizonBridge are an official partner of the Chamber of Crafts in Ulm and also have a large network of craft companies in Germany that are looking for reinforcement and offer apprenticeships as a certified company.

Vocational training in the crafts sector in Germany typically lasts three to three and a half years, combining hands-on work in a company with theoretical classes at a vocational school. This dual approach ensures that apprentices gain both comprehensive technical knowledge and practical skills. At the end of the training, a final exam is taken, and German qualifications are internationally recognized for their thoroughness and high standards. This reputation makes German-trained professionals highly valued worldwide.

4. What salary do you earn in Germany during vocational training and afterwards as a trained specialist in the craft sector?

The average apprenticeship pay in German craft sector starts at 1,000 euros (1,484,000 RWF) in the first year, increasing each year of training. After completing their apprenticeship, qualified tradespeople can expect a starting salary of about 2,000 to 3,000 euros ( 3,000,000 - 5,000,000 RWF) gross per month under collective agreements. You will also benefit from social insurance coverage, including health, nursing, and pension insurance, along with additional company benefits. These protections offer a solid foundation and attractive conditions for a long-term career.

5. How long can I stay in Germany with my visa?

After completing a vocational training program in Germany on an apprenticeship visa, a graduate can apply for a work visa (often a "Skilled Worker" visa) to stay and work in Germany. With this, they gain the right to work full-time in their trained field. After living in Germany for five years with a stable income and social contributions, they may be eligible for permanent residency. When you continue to stay in Germany, you may also apply for german citizenship.
