Live & work in Germany

Jean's success story  /  Jean's Erfolgsgeschichte

The bridge for Rwandans to live and  work in Germany

With the HorizonBridge Germany program, we provide you with a German language course and then vocational training in Germany in a technical or craft profession.

We stand for a simple and transparent process and all for a fair fee with no hidden costs.

The process:

1. You register in our online form and we check your data.  If everything fits, you will receive a confirmation from us and transfer the course fee. This is your start in our program.

2. We will teach you the German language up to language level B1 (the language requirement for obtaining a work visa). In 5 - 6 months you will have learned a new language and will be ready for your start in Germany with your new skills.

3. After you have passed the language course, we will find you a  place for vocational training (apprenticeship) in a company in Germany. We will also take care of your visa and your flight to Germany. This only takes about 1-2 months.

4. We make sure that you get to know your new employer well in advance and that everything fits when you arrive. From the apartment to your vocational training plan. You get on the plane to Germany and start your new life.

We have different Progamms for both apprenticeships and already experienced professionals*.

3. What happens after the German course, how does vocational training in Germany work?

We at HorizonBridge are an official partner of the Chamber of Crafts in Ulm and also have a large network of craft companies in Germany that are looking for reinforcement and offer apprenticeships as a certified company.

Vocational training in the crafts sector in Germany typically lasts three to three and a half years, combining hands-on work in a company with theoretical classes at a vocational school. This dual approach ensures that apprentices gain both comprehensive technical knowledge and practical skills. At the end of the training, a final exam is taken, and German qualifications are internationally recognized for their thoroughness and high standards. This reputation makes German-trained professionals highly valued worldwide.

4. What salary do you earn in Germany during vocational training and afterwards as a trained specialist in the craft sector?

The average apprenticeship pay in German craft sector starts at 1,000 euros (1,484,000 RWF) in the first year, increasing each year of training. After completing their apprenticeship, qualified tradespeople can expect a starting salary of about 2,000 to 3,000 euros ( 3,000,000 - 5,000,000 RWF) gross per month under collective agreements. You will also benefit from social insurance coverage, including health, nursing, and pension insurance, along with additional company benefits. These protections offer a solid foundation and attractive conditions for a long-term career.

5. How long can I stay in Germany with my visa?

After completing a vocational training program in Germany on an apprenticeship visa, a graduate can apply for a work visa (often a "Skilled Worker" visa) to stay and work in Germany. With this, they gain the right to work full-time in their trained field. After living in Germany for five years with a stable income and social contributions, they may be eligible for permanent residency. When you continue to stay in Germany, you may also apply for german citizenship.
